What We do

Landscape Photography is our first love. Photos of beautiful places capturing uniqueness such as golden hour sunrise and sunset shots are rewarding. Our efforts turn into learning experiences as we seek out new and different landscapes. Season changes, wildlife, weather etc; all create images turning the same location is a different “canvas.”

Travel Photography builds on landscape taking us to various locations around the world. The new canvas causes and anticipation and excitement. The Colosseum in Rome is a majestic shot but when shooting we try to find a uniqueness even on a picture-perfect day. Travel Photography can become a study of humankind and world history that we try to capture in our images and share in our blogs. There is always a story if you do the research.

When shooting Cityscapes, working with people, vehicles, pets, crowds etc turns it into Street Photography. While we are adding personality, one challenge is keeping people anonymous, so they are shapes and images rather than identifiable faces and individuals. Either way, Cities have personality and are loaded with great subject matter and history.

The basis of our images starts with composition. We typically shoot a bigger frame than we plan on printing. It is a “more is better” approach resulting in a higher percentage of usable shots. The soft and dreamy style in our art prints is a mix of depth of field in the shot and post-processing.

For personalized shots and that special Photo-Art you want for a living or workspace, we are available for scheduled photo shoots. “People in Pictures” is a specialty of taking photos on location for that shot you would take if you could and want something more impressive than a “selfie.” You and yours are the subject matter, framed by an image that becomes a background.

Landscape

The Giants Causeway is fascinating and unique geological structures. The earth appears to have been somehow pushed up almost looking like a "Playdough" machine. The cover shot from Houses of the Holly by Led Zeppelin was shot here.

Travel

Rome's Pantheon is the worlds largest unreinforced concrete structure in the world. The remarkable example of ancient Rome's engineering was built around 126 AD. It's 142 feet diameter is topped off by an oculus that's 142 feet from the floor.

CityScapes

This is one of my first shots with a new camera. Its a December morning at 5 AM, a few weeks before the holidays. Location is Melrose Mass that's a great place with a history of originally being part of Charlestown. What is likeable about the shot it captures the city right before waking up.
